Our History
Vertex was founded in 2008, recognizing a need for expertise to facilitate smooth and targeted transactions. Our first clients were in the Security Alarm and Life Safety industries, segments we continue to serve to this day. Much as those industries have grown and expanded into arenas well beyond their 2008 landscape, Vertex has expanded our expertise. Services now include but are not limited to new interrelated industries (e.g., connectivity, remote access, video) and wholly independent market sectors (e.g., construction supplies, flooring, online apparel, light manufacturing).

Our Advisors
Barry Epstein is a Founder and President of Vertex Capital, an acquisition firm which represents buyers and sellers throughout Recurring Revenue industries and the Life Safety sector. Barry has over 20 years of acquisition experience which originated in the Security Alarm/Life Safety Industry. He has completed numerous acquisitions in a wide range of areas.
Barry is a frequent industry speaker. He speaks domestically and internationally on growth through acquisitions, exit strategies, valuations and the current state of the acquisition marketplace.
Barry began his career in Banking in 1985. Prior to founding Vertex Capital, he served as Senior Vice President at SLP Capital, a specialty finance company which provided capital to the Life Safety sector. He also served as a lender at FSS, a specialty lender to the alarm industry. Barry holds an MBA and a BBA from the University of Texas McCombs School of Business.
Dia Epstein is a Founder and Vice President of Vertex Capital. She has worked in acquisitions since Vertex Capital’s inception in 2008. Prior to that, she was a partner in a Dallas law firm where she represented clients as a civil trial lawyer, honing advocacy and negotiation skills. She handled all aspects of civil trials and appeals for a broad range of clients.
Dia has served in various capacities on nonprofit boards and has engaged in ongoing community service for over 30 years. She holds a JD from the University of Texas School of Law and a BA in English from the University of Texas.
